About:
Fort Hays State University has found a unique opportunity in its
fortified partnership with SIAS University in China. Currently
it is serving roughly 400 students at SIAS with an opportunity
to graduate with a dual degree having earned their Bachelor of
General Studies degree with an emphasis in Business Management
from FHSU coupled with their degree from SIAS University. The
number of students partaking in this exciting opportunity is growing
with an estimated fourteen hundred students in 2004 burgeoning
to new heights by 2007 with an estimated ninety-five hundred students.
With this growth come new demands on the content delivery capabilities
of FHSU, and with these demands come an imperative need to improve
the current system. Following the suggestions herein will provide
FHSU with ample resources to meet not only these projected demands,
but also demands beyond the year 2007.
Problems:
- Overcoming Network Traffic
- Having Hardware that can Handle Increased Workload
- Guarantee Quality of Service as Enrollment Increases
- Working with Funding Uncertainty from Government
- Cooperation with Foreign Governments
